New Cafe Outing 12/17/25

Yesterday I went to a new cafe in town, called Babychan. It's a Japanese style cafe, so it has japanese style sandwiches and drinks, and a few desserts.

I ordered an iced americano(something I like to try the first time I go anywhere that serves coffee), an egg salad sandwich, and a vanilla + espresso flan pudding. The americano was about a 7/10 for me, it captured the strength of the espresso pretty well but I found it was more acidic than having a balanced fruity flavor. The egg salad sandwich was amazing, and I think the pudding is worth going back for only that! I have never had anything so soft and sweet, but it also had sweet salt in it for a nice mix-up.

Something that surpassed me a lot was that after a few minutes of being at the restaurant, another person wearing lolita fashion came into the restaurant! I wanted to say hello but preferred to not bother anyone. I don't know if she saw me but her outfit was very cute and pink!

My friend and I went to get boba tea later, I got a strawberry cream drink. It was yummy.

Here is a rundown of the coordinates for the day. I dressed my friend up also, and they wore the outfit in Kemonomimi (A Japanese term for characters that are humans but have ears and tails).

Oh, do they have the fruito sando that has fruit in cream sliced to show off a design? I've always thought those were pretty but not sure they'd taste good.

If it happens again, you might try to catch the other person's eye. If they look away or turn aside, they don't want to be bothered. If they smile or nod, or hold your gaze, they're probably open to at least a quick greeting or compliment. Any kind of subculture tends to work similar to queer cruising in that regard. I've had a stranger strike up a conversation based on my tie-dyed socks.
